Exiled in Paradise is the musical project of Garrett Brumley, a composer, guitarist and software developer from Austin, Texas.
Writing his first compositions after joining his middle school band in 6th grade, he regularly composed and arranged music for himself, his friends, and his High School Band and Orchestra, and in 2013 was selected as a winner of the Austin Symphony Orchestra 4th Annual Young Composers competition for his piece Transmutation, Movement I. of Symphony #1, The Geiger Symphony.
Garrett attended the University of North Texas where he studied composition for a couple of years, writing many project pieces and branching out into new styles including electronic and chiptune music. He is an alumni of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity, Gamma Theta chapter.
He currently works full time as a Software Developer, but still spends his free time practicing guitar and writing music.
